Tell City, Indiana Frances E. Strobel O'Brian, 84, passed away Thursday, April 22, 2010 at Perry County Memorial Hospital. She was born in Indianapolis May 7, 1925 and grew up in Tell City daughter of the late Henry A. and Catherine (Eberle) Strobel. A 1943 graduate of Tell City High School, Frances went to work in the office for General Electric. She then spent several years at the St. Paul Indian Mission in Marty, South Dakota and moved to Indianapolis in 1961. Frances worked at the former Indianapolis News and held several other clerical positions. She was active in her parish, Immaculate Heart of Mary, and was known for her ministry and volunteer work in her community. Recently, she moved back to Tell City to be close to her family. Frances was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church. Preceding her in death were her parents and a sister Ann Wirthwein. Frances is survived by: Sisters - Dorothy Ferrando (Dr. D.M.), Pasadena, TX Mary Rose Beavin Birchler (Jack), Indianapolis Rita Brockman (Levinus), St. Meinrad Carol S. Dauby (Don), Tell City Brothers - Henry A. Strobel (Susan), Aumsville, Oregon Paul J. Strobel (Ruth), Tell City Several nieces and nephews and many friends A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM Monday, April 26, 2010 at St. Paul Catholic Church with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery. Rev. Dennis Duvelius will officiate. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 7:00 PM on Sunday and from 8:30 until 9:30 AM on Monday at Huber Funeral Home, 1139 12th Street, Tell City, Indiana.
