Cannelton, Indiana Forrest D. Hawhee, 68, passed away Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at his home. He was born August 6, 1941 in Cannelton son of the late Franklin and Bertha (Hobbs) Hawhee. He married Margaret ""Peg"" Bettag on April 16, 1966 at Mary Help of Christian Church in Mariah Hill. A 1959 graduate of Cannelton High School, Forrest worked at Schwab Safe for 40 years. He and his family owned and operated Hawhee Auction Service for over 25 years and was a member of Indiana Auctioneer Association. Forrest was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church and a former member of Indiana National Guard. He enjoyed going to flea markets, auctions, yard sales, watching his grandchildren's ballgames and spending time with his family. He is survived by His of 44 years, Peg Daughter - Tracey Coyle, her husband Ron, and their children Tory and Jenna Coyle, Cannelton Son - Frank Hawhee and his children, Jarrett, Kailynn and Tyler Hawhee Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, May 7, 2010 at Huber Funeral Home, Cannelton Chapel, with burial in St. Michael Cemetery. Rev. Barnabas Gillespie O.S.B. will officiate. Visitation will be from 3:00 until 8:00 PM on Thursday on 8:30 until 10:00 AM Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael Restoration Fund or Visiting Nurse Association.
