Evelyn Hoops

Tell City, Indiana Evelyn Christine Hoops, 94, passed away Friday March 26, 2004 at Oakwood Assisted Living in Tell City. Evelyn graduated from Grandview (IN) High School and received her college education at Evansville College and Indiana State University. She also attended Indiana University, Butler University, and Kentucky Wesleyan College in Owensboro, Kentucky. ""Miss Evelyn"" taught school for 46 years at Lamar, Chrisney, Buffaloville, and Clay Huff. Evelyn was always helpful to people at school, church and in her personal life. She was active at St. John's United Church of Christ in Lamar, Delta Kappa Gamma, and the Spencer County Co-op. Preceding her in death was a niece, Carol Kingsley, and a great nephew, Kevin Schoolfield. Surviving is a nephew, Dr. Byron Schoolfield and his wife Bobbi and a great niece Kristi Schoolfield of Flint, Michigan. A nephew, Edward Kingsley of New Palestine, a great niece Denise Her husky and her husband Brian and great great nieces and nephews Allyson, Nicholas, Mason, Lindsay, and Brooke Her husky of Indianapolis, Indiana. A great nephew, Mark Kingsley of Telluride, Colorado. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM EST Monday March 29, 2004 at Huber Funeral Home, 1139 12th Street, Tell City with burial in St. John United Church of Christ Cemetery at Lamar. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Sunday and from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM Monday at Huber Funeral Home-Tell City Chapel.
