Rome, Indiana Eva Rose Miller, 81, of Rome, passed away March 31, 2016 at Perry County Memorial Hospital. Eva Rose was born in Rome on September 21, 1934, daughter of the late Thomas Ramsey and Elma Burton Ramsey. She was also preceded in death by her son, Joey, in infancy. Eva Rose was a 1952 graduate of Cannelton High School. She was united in marriage at the Rome United Methodist Church on March 24, 1956 to James H. Miller, Sr. who survives. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this past Thursday with family and friends. Eva Rose was employed for twenty-five years at the Agricultural Stabilization Conservation Service in Cannelton. She was a faithful, lifelong member of Rome United Methodist Church where she served as treasurer for many years. She was a Rome 4-H leader for 13 years and active in the community preservation of the Rome Courthouse. Many people remember Eva Rose for her continued work at the wonderful meals served for the annual Dogwood Festival. She enjoyed her flowers, gardening, walking and following her granddaughters in sports. Eva Rose is survived by her husband of sixty years, Jimmy Miller; her son, Jim Miller(Carol), Rome; daughter, Judy(David) Voegel, Poseyville, Indiana; a brother, Burton Ramsey(Bonnie), Chrisney, Indiana; grandchildren, Abbi and Alex Bryant, Ashli(Shaun) Rhoads and Abbi Voegel; a great grandson, Porter David Rhoads. Eva Rose has an adopted family that she loved dearly, Jon, Kay, Alex and Allison Scheer. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, April 3, 2016 at Rome United Methodist Church with burial in Wegenast Cemetery near Rome. Visitation is from 2:00 until 8:00 PM Saturday at Huber Funeral Home, Cannelton Chapel, and 1:00 until 3:00 PM Sunday at the church. Pastors Ann Skiba and Paul Alvey will officiate. In lieu of flowers, Eva Rose and her family request that memorial contributions be given the Rome United Methodist Church.
