Tell City, Indiana E. Marie Howell, 87, received her wings when she met the Lord on Wednesday, February 4, 2009. Marie was born May 2, 1921 in Cannelton, Indiana daughter of the late Tony Sherman Bennett and Celestine (Alvey) Bennett. She married George W. Howell on September 5, 1936. Also preceding her in death besides her parents and husband was a son George Curtis Howell, grandsons, Phillip Howell and John Howell, and brothers, Curtis ""Kirby"" Bennett and Williams S. ""Buddy"" Bennett and a son-law, Larry Goffinet. Marie worked at General Electric several years and retired from Tell City Chair Company. She was a past member of American Legion Auxiliary Post #213. A member of St. Paul Catholic Church, she enjoyed reading, bowling, playing bingo, buying shoes, watching Wheel of Fortune and I.U. basketball games, especially Bobby Knight and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by: Daughters - Marjorie ""Marge"" Roberts and her husband Don, Tell City, Indiana Brenda Goffinet, Tell City, Indiana Dianne Kessans and her husband Randy, Merritt Island, Florida and her daughter Sherry Howell, Tell City, Indiana, who was her constant companion and caregiver Sons - Richard Howell and his wife Ann, Glasgow, Kentucky Douglas Howell and his wife Debra, St. Croix, Indiana Jerry Howell and his wife Delight, Tell City, Indiana 16 grandchildren: Brandon Howell, Jamie Martin, Brynn Howell, Travis Goffinet, Melissa Goffinet, Don Roberts, Sheila Staples, Amity Cochran, Alexis Kessans, Kimberly Irwin, Candace Renn, Shana Kaye Balmer, Shannon Mincks, Sonny Howell, Chris Howell and Nathan Howell. 18 great grandchildren Marie's Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, February 7, 2009 at St. Paul Catholic Church with burial at St. Mary Cemetery. Rev. Timothy Sweeney O.S.B. will officiate. Visitation will be on Friday from 2:00 until 8:00 PM and on Saturday from 8:30 until 9:30 AM. at Huber Funeral Home, 1139 12th Street, Tell City. There will be a prayer service Friday evening at 7:30PM. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Catholic Church, American Stroke Association, or National Autism Association.
