Eva Mae (Walker) Greiner was born on July 15, 1919 in the small town of Oriole, Indiana. After living a great life filled with many accomplishments, love and joy, she passed away on January 24th, 2015 at the age of 95. She was preceded in death by her parents Forest and Lula (Carmichael) Walker, her husband Harold, her daughter Cheri, brothers Asbury and Leonard Walker, sister Marie (Walker)Lynch as well as numerous relatives and friends. She is survived by her daughter Kay (Wayne) Wiseman and several nieces and nephews. Eva joined Branchville Methodist Church at the age of 13. She later became a member of Lincoln Hills Methodist Church and she has been a member of Greenwood United Methodist Church since 2002. She filled many positions in her church and remained a faithful member throughout her years of membership. Following graduation from high school, she attended Oakland City College where she earned her teaching degree. She began her teaching career in 1939 and after 40 years of teaching she retired in 1981. She also attended Evansville College and received her Bachelors and Masters Degrees and her Reading Endorsement from Indiana University at Bloomington. Most of her teaching was done in Perry and Crawford Counties. Eva held memberships in Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority, ISTA, IU Alumni, Oasis Club, English Civic Club, Eastern Star, Senior Citizens, American Red Cross and Extension Homemakers. She also spent countless hours volunteering for the library, her daughter's classroom, her church, and as an adult tutor for literacy. She also loved to visit her friends and neighbors who were shut-ins. Because of her love for teaching children, memorial contributions may be made to Crawford County Public Library children's fund or the Lincoln Hills United Methodist Church Memorial Fund. Visitation will be held at Greenwood Methodist Church, 525 North Madison Avenue, on Monday, January 26th, from 4:00 until 6:00 with a memorial service at 6:00 p.m. There will also be visitation at Lincoln Hills United Methodist Church, 1598 Indiana 64, English, Indiana from 4:00 until 8:00 on Wednesday, January 28th and from 11:00 a.m.until service time on Thursday, January, 29th. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, January 29th at 1:00 p.m. at Lincoln Hills United Methodist Church with burial at Walker Cemetery at Branchville, Indiana.
