Cannelton, Indiana - Eva C. Danhauer, a deeply loved woman, left her beloved Cannelton on Saturday, August 1, 2015, for a better place with God whom she served on this earth for 97 years. Eva McFall Danhauer was born to John McFall and Cora Polk McFall on January 18, 1918, in Dodd, Indiana. Eva married her husband, Carl Danhauer in 1946. He preceded her in death in 1985. Eva and Carl had one child, Johnny Danhauer, who died at the age of 24, as a result of a plane crash in Alaska. Johnny's widow, Marietta Danhauer Effinger, along with her sons, Jim Danhauer, (his wife, Jody and sons Austin and Jesse) and Andrew Danhauer (his wife, Bridgitte and daughter, Dani Danhauer) survive her. Also surviving her is a sister, Margie Nease, St. Augustine, Florida; nieces, Mary Jane Hunt, Margaret Chauvin and Suzette Chauvin, all of St. Augustine, Florida; nephews, Gary Hay (Ann), Leopold, Indiana and Stephen Hay (Palmira) of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Preceding her in death besides her parents, husband and son, were her sisters, Irene Huber, Verna Hay and Vivian Busam and a nephew, Frank Busam. Frank's wife, B'Linda resides in St. Augustine, Florida. A special thank you to John Mitchell, a dear friend of Eva, who accompanied her often and with much love. A 1935 graduate of Cannelton High School, Eva will be remembered by all for her loving interest in each person and her incredible memory. She could tell stories of her early days of dating to her life with her parents who managed the Sunny Crest Orchard and who also later ran an ice delivery business. Eva loved to talk at length about her wonderful teachers and early student years at the Cannelton Free School. Eva had worked at Ben Franklin Five & Dime, Sunlight Hotel and as a teacher's aid at Cannelton Schools. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at St. Luke Episcopal Church with burial in St. Michael Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 until 7:00 PM on Monday and from 8:30 until 9:30 on Tuesday at Huber Funeral Home, Cannelton Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke Episcopal Church.
