Eugene Highfill

Tell City, Indiana Eugene Highfill, 78, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at Perry County Memorial Hospital. He was born in Crawford County July 16, 1932 son of the late Elzia Highfill and Myrl Ramsey. Also preceding him in death were two sons, one in infancy and Steven ""Flywheel"" Highfill, and a great granddaughter Autumn Rickart. Eugene was united in marriage in 1956 to the former Mary Alice Hockenberry who survives. He was a Boilermaker for Local 374 for 32 years. Eugene enjoyed gardening, auctions and yard sales. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary Alice Highfill, Tell City; daughter, Debbie Cash (Eugene), Tell City; sons, Charlie Highfill (Millie), St. Meinrad and Michael Highfill, Cannelton; 5 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Friday, June 10, 2011 at Huber Funeral Home, Cannelton Chapel with burial in Badger Cemetery, near Derby. Rev. Arlie Brock will officiate. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 8:00 on Thursday and from 9:00 AM until service time on Friday at Huber Funeral Home, Cannelton Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity.
