Tell City, Indiana Eugene Duke "Big Duke", 82, passed away September 13, 2016 at The Heartford House in Owensboro, KY. He was born November 17, 1933 in McQuady, KY to the late Cycle and Florence (Hockenberry) Duke. Eugene was united in marriage on January 14, 1953 to the former Ethel Riley, who precedes him in death in 2015. Also preceding him in death are his wife, Ethel Duke; grandson, Chad Embry; brothers, Denver, Bobby, Dallas and Ernest Duke. He had worked at Fischer's Packing House in Louisville and Tell City Chair Co. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, spending time with his family, his dog Katie, and visiting with family and friends. Eugene is survived by son; Larry Duke (Kathy); daughters, Dorothy Davis (Rick) and Susie Abney (Lewis), all of Tell City; brothers, Howard Duke (Catherine) of Louisville, KY, Harvey Duke (Verna) and Eddie Duke (Pat), all of Tell City; a sister, Ruby Bolin of Tell City; grandchildren, Jim Whalen, Shannon Blankenship, Gary Davis, Penny Damin and Jasmine Board and great grandchildren, Alex, Kennedy, Chloe, Emma, Ethan, Maeson, Andi, Shelby, Maggie, Haley, Gracie, Chase and Seth. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Thursday at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Pastor Arlie Brock will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until service time.
