Estel Hensley

Estel Lee Hensley, 89, passed away on May 16, 2022 at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper. He was born in Perry County, Indiana on September 12, 1932 to George and Anna (Hall) Hensley. In his younger years, Estel, better known as "Buck" had worked for the railroad. He retired from Ford Motor Company in January 1985 after 30 years. In his free time, he loved working in his garden, farming and watching westerns with his dogs, was one of his favorite things. Surviving are his children, Debra Enlow (Ervin), Doolittle Mills, Barbara Marrow, Tennessee, John Hensley, Doolittle Mills, Wanda Hensley (Terry Wright), Doolittle Mills, Lisa Owens (Tim), Marengo, Dexter Hensley, Evansville and Reda Hensley, Floyd Knobs; a sister, Ethel Underhill, Doolittle Mills and brother, Lester Hensley, Santa Claus; 13 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents; first wife, Edna (Night) Hensley; second wife of 54 years, Ruth (Wheet) Hensley; a son, Donald Hensley; sisters, Bethel "Lorraine" Props and Nova Sturgeon and a brother, Albert Hensley. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM CDT on Friday, May 20, 2022 at Bethel Christian Church in Doolittle Mills. Brother Al Madden will officiate. Burial will follow in Doolittle Mills Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 3:00-7:00 PM CDT at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel and Friday from 10:00-11:00 AM CDT at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Doolittle Mills Cemetery.
