Tell City, Indiana - Emma May Parr, 98, passed away at 2:30 PM on Friday, June 24, 2011, at Golden Living Center. She was born in Tell City on May 17, 1913. Her parents were the late William and Emma (Litherland) Feix. Also preceding her in death were her sisters, Minnie Mosby, Tillie Jarboe, Augusta Goolsbey, Christina Jarboe, Edna Little and Elfrieda Hess; brothers, George, Ed, William, Harry and John Feix; a son, Clyde Parr, Jr.; a granddaughter, Katherine Parr and a grandson, David Young. May was a 1931 graduate of Tell City High School and married Clyde Parr on June 9, 1931, in Rockport Indiana. He passed away in 1998. She was a member of Seventh Street Baptist Church in Cannelton and enjoyed reading, sewing word search puzzles and spending time with her family. Surviving are her daughters, Edna May Young (Art), Pendleton and Linda Weigand (Kenneth), Evanston; sons, George Parr (Rose), Tell City and Gerald Parr, Greenville, Ohio; 20 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren and 18 great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 27, 2011, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel, with burial in New Cliff Cemetery in Cannelton. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 8:00 on Sunday and from 9:00 until service time on Monday. Pastor Joe Simpson will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to Seventh Street Baptist Church.
