Elaine Howell

Elaine Howell, 68, passed away on March 11, 2025, at Perry County Memorial Hospital.

She was born on November 22, 1956, to Gordon and Josephine (Riley) Stirk.

She was a 1975 graduate of Cannelton High School and was united in marriage on December 18, 1976, to Ed Howell, who survives.

Elaine retired from Parker Hannifin after 45 years.

She liked to go to the dirt tracks and watch sprint car racing, attending concerts and rock and roll music. Elaine was most proud of being “Mamaw Elaine” to her grandchildren for whom she adored.

Surviving is her husband of 48 years, Ed Howell; grandchildren, Leayn and James Howell; great grandchildren, Zoe Howell and Ziegyn Lax; and a sister, Tonya Humphrey (Steve).

Preceded her in death were her parents, a son, Carl Howell and brother, Randy Hayes.

Services will be private. Huber Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
