Tell City, Indiana Edith "Edie" Simpson, 82, passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at her home in Tell City. Edie was born in Perry County April 19, 1931, daughter of the late James E. Morris and Nannie Robbins Morris. Also preceding her in death were her sisters, Pauline Clark, Katherine Caldwell and Blanche Martin, her brothers, James, Sydney and Martin Morris. Edie was a 1949 graduate of Cannelton High School and also a graduate of Lockyear Business College. She was married December 20, 1952 to Bernard H. Simpson, who survives. Edith was an employee of General Electric; later was a preschool teacher at Tots Lots. Music was a special part of Edie's life; she was a member of her church choir and had participated in several community choirs. She also enjoyed crafts, cross stitch, bird watching and going for drives, especially along the river. Edie was a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ, the church Women's Guild and Perry County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. Edith is survived by her husband of 61 years, Bernard H. Simpson, daughters, Kathy (Bernard) Ulincy, South Abington Township, PA, Tammy (Danny) Medcalf, Dale, IN, grandchildren, Jonathan, Brandon and Amanda Ulincy, Mathew and Sean Medcalf and Jennifer Hemenway. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, March 29 at Evangelical United Church of Christ with Pastor J.T. Hills officiating. Burial is in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation is from 3:00 - 8:00 PM Friday at Huber Funeral Home, 1139-12th Street, Tell City, and from 9:00-10:00 AM Saturday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the church organ fund.
