Earl Doogs

St. Croix, Indiana - Earl E. Doogs, 99, passed away on Thursday, August 2, 2012, at his home. He was born on September 7, 1912, in Apalona. His parents were the late August and Rosie (Hubert) Doogs. Also preceding him in death were his son, Paul E. Doogs; brothers, Frank, in infancy, John, Floyd, Leslie, Lawrence and Gus Doogs and sisters, Bertha LaGrange, Florence LaGrange and Anna Myers. Earl married Pearl Peter on September 28, 1937, at St. Augustine Catholic Church where he was a member. A lifelong farmer, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, baseball and playing euchre. Surviving are his wife, Pearl Doogs; daughter, Pat Doogs; daughter-in-law, Patricia Doogs; grandchildren, Dawn Doogs and Shawn Doogs; great grandson, Ryan Doogs. A Mass of Christian of Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, August 6, 2012, at St. Augustine Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Brian Esarey will officiate. Visitation will be from 3:00 until 7:00 PM on Sunday and from 8:30 until 9:30 on Monday at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. There will be a rosary at 6:45 PM on Sunday. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Augustine Catholic Church.
