Duane Leaf

Tobinsport, Indiana Duane S, Leaf, 85, passed away on April 8, 2021. He was born in Tobinsport, Indiana on July 12 1935, son of Arnold "Hap" and Maude (Sutton) Leaf. Duane was a graduate of Cannelton High School and served in the United States Army. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Tell City and American Legion Post #213. Duane was united in marriage to Dorothy "Dot" (Nugent) Polk on November 5, 1988 at First Baptist Church in Tell City. He had worked for Charlie Stillwell on tow boats, did maintenance and mowing at Cannelton Locks and Dam and was a greeter for Wal-Mart. He farmed; raising strawberries and watermelons and raised beagles for show. He enjoyed keeping his yard perfect, mowing grass and working in his gardens. Surviving is his wife, Dorothy "Dot" Leaf, Tobinsport; step daughter, Bev Biever (Mark), Tobinsport; daughter in law, Judy Polk, Tell City; grandchildren, Ginger Richardson (Jeff), Todd Biever (Gina), Mike Polk (Natalie), Dusti Windell (Zack) and Patrick Biever (Halie Anderson) and great grandchildren, Morgan Schraner (Trent), Blake Polk, Trent and Zane Biever, Macy and Carson Windell, Braxton and Brody Biever and Angus Machen. Preceding him in death were his parents; step children, Pat Hamilton and Don Polk and his brother, Arnold Leaf, Jr. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM CST on Monday, April 12, 2021at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Pastor Dan Hopkins will officiate. Burial, with military rites, will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00-6:00 PM and Monday 1:30-3:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, Tell City or Deer Creek Baptist Church.
