Doyle Swaney Sr.

Troy, Indiana Doyle E. Swaney, Sr., 76, passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at Cypress Grove Rehabilitation Center in Newburgh. Doyle was born May 14, 1934 in Troy son of the late Frank and Rose (Nicholson) Swaney. Also preceding him in death was his wife Margaret (Williamson) Swaney in 2008, daughter, Doyla Kay Swaney and grandson Joseph R. Dixon. He retired as an ironworker from Local 1 and 103. Doyle enjoyed fishing and woodworking. He is survived by; daughter, Margaret ""Peggy"" Waid, Tell City; six sons, James Wayne Dixon, Grandview, Larry Joe Dixon, Hawesville, Edward Dixon, Kingsland, Georgia, Donald Ray Swaney, Louisville, Doyle Edward Swaney, Jr., Tell City, Darrell Lee Swaney, Kingsland, Georgia; brother, Donald Swaney, Tell City; sister, Dorothy McCallister, Tell City 16 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren Graveside funeral services will be at 10:00AM Thursday, March 31, 2011 at St. Mary's Cemetery. Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel is handling arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
