Doyle James

Mount Pleasant, Indiana - Doyle J. James, 73, passed away on August 24, 2023. He was born in Perry County on April 10, 1950, son of Earl W. and Marie F. (Etienne) James. Doyle was united in marriage to Vicki Jean Hahus on August 22, 1970, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Leopold. He worked in construction most of his life, retiring in 2012 from Tri-Star Construction. He had also operated heavy equipment for Foertsch's, working coal mines. Doyle James never met a stranger and had many friends and relatives that he always looked forward to catching up with. Every week or two, he enjoyed stopping by the library to grab some good westerns to read. Surviving is his wife of 53 years, Vicki James; son, Korey James (Terria), Tell City; brothers, Allen James (Jo), Paoli, Durward James (Brenda), Tell City; sisters, Charlotte Mayden, New Salisbury, Linda Ziegelgruber (Kenny) Tell City, Geraldine Hagman, Tell City and Betty Jo Genet, Tell City; grandchildren, Kaila James, Kole James, Kane James, Catelyn Rockwell (Nick), Miranda Smith (Isaac) and Trent Zuelly and six great grandchildren. His parents, a brother J.C. James and a son, Karl James, preceded him in death. Visitation for Doyle will be from 2:00 until 6 PM on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel.
