Derby, Indiana - Doris "Kay" James, 70, passed away on March 23, 2013, at her home. She was born in Tell City on January 11, 1943, daughter of George Hamilton Ball and the late Mildred (Howell) Ball Cassidy. Also preceding her in death were her step father, Bernard "Laz"Cassidy; twin sister, Fay Ball and sister, Marie Sodrel. Kay married Richard James on January 17, 1962. A homemaker, Kay enjoyed flower gardening, crossword puzzles, spending time with her family and her animals, especially her puppy, Chico. Surviving are her husband of 52 years, Richard; daughters, Lisa Suchanek (Brian) Ankeny, Iowa, Angie Galey, Tell City, Stephanie Henson (Kenny), Tell City and Michelle James (Brad), Tell City; sons, Rick James (Cheryl), Tell City and Jason James (Elizabeth) Bristow; brother, George Ball; grandchildren, Kimberly, Jessica, Michael, Jean, Kyle, Cord, Jordan, Wade, Bryce, Dustin, Ilana, Kaylynn and Isiah; great grandchildren, Logan, Mason, Mallory and Jaxon. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel, with burial in Lilly Dale Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 7:00 PM on Monday and from 8:30 AM until service time on Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to Perry County Animal Shelter.
