Tell City, Indiana –
Donald Ray Sandage, 82, passed away on February 18, 2024.
He was born on June 11, 1941 to Oliver and Hope (Howell) Sandage.
Donnie was a 1959 graduate of Tell City High School and attended Ivy Tech. He served in the Indiana National Guard and was a member of American Legion Post #213 and FFA when he was in school.
Donnie retired from Corn Island Ship Yard. He had also worked at Swiss Plywood, Maxon Marine and Can Clay. Donnie enjoyed racing his stock car, watching NASCAR, piddling on his C.B. radio, gardening and listening to country music.
Surviving are his children, Dawn Jewell (Curtis), Tell City, Amy Lumpkins (Freddie), Boonville and Jayson Sandage (Samantha), Stendal; a brother, Ronnie Sandage, Corydon; grandsons, Andrew Snyder and Kyle Snyder (Daylen Trimble); great grandchildren, Benjamin, Camdyn, Wayde and Gracelyn Snyder and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents and siblings Sharon Harding, Gary Sandage and Steven Sandage in infancy.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM CDT on Friday, February 23, 2024 at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Brother Rob Alvey will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery with military rites provided by the American Legion Post #213.
Visitation will be on Friday from 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to The Giving Tree in care of St. Anthony Hospice.
