Donald Walters

Don Walters, 80, born Donald A. Walters on January 19, 1943, in Perry County, Indiana, was a beloved father, husband, brother, and friend. He passed away on May 26, 2023, surrounded by the love of family. Don was known for his warm heart and strong work ethic. He was a skilled machine operator, dedicating 26 years of his life to the Tell City Chair Company before retiring in 2005. Don's love for woodworking extended beyond his career, as he enjoyed creating beautiful pieces of furniture and decorations for his home and for loved ones. He also enjoyed yard sales and flea markets. Don was a man who embraced life and all its offerings. He was a member of the Lilly Dale Church of Christ. Don's zest for life was evident in his hobbies, which included bowling, bingo, and frequent visits to the gambling boat. He often shared stories of his adventures with family and friends. Don is survived by his children, Timmy Walters (Debra), Dan Walters (Melissa) , Ginger Paul (Dan), Robin Robinson (Bill), and Jerry Wardrip (Lisa) and Dennis Wardrip (Lisa); daughter-in-law, Alma Wardrip; his siblings Larry Walters (Marsha), Roy Walters (Teena), Paul Walters, and Wanda Seamon and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Andrew and Edith Walters, wife Lennie "Jean" Walters, son Danny Wardrip, brother Harold Walters, and grandson Zach Wardrip. Don's Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM CDT on Tuesday May 30, 2023, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3:00 until 7:00 PM on Monday and from 9:00 AM until service time on Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association.
