Donald Sims

Tell City, Indiana Donald "Don" L. Sims, 69, passed away August 27, 2018 at Hermitage Care and Rehabilitation Center in Owensboro, Kentucky. He was born in Tell City, Indiana on September 25, 1948 to the late Lloyd and Alberta (Sprinkle) Sims. Also preceding him in death was his brother David Sims. Don was a 1966 graduate of Tell City High School and was an Air Force veteran. He retired in 2008 after 38 years with the United States Postal Service. He was currently working for Marksman Cab Service. Don enjoyed playing cards, bowling, mushroom hunting, camping, attending shooting matches and auctions. He was collector of Candlewick dishes and baseball cards. Surviving are his children, Brian Sims, Tell City and Stacie Sims, Owensboro, KY; mother of his children, Mary (Coyle) Sims, Tell City; step brother, Harold King, Kansas City, MO; step sister, Janet Ball, Tobinsport; grandchildren, Jacob and Brenna Sims. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM CST on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Rev. Luke Waugh will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Isidore Church Cemetery, with military rites conducted by the V.F.W. Post #2939. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3:00-8:00 PM and Thursday 9:00-11:00 AM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Perry County Animal Shelter.
