Donald L. James, 85, passed away on January 18, 2024 at Hartford House in Owensboro.

He was born on April 18, 1938 to William and Mabel (Curl) James.

Donald retired from DMI Furniture, formerly in Huntingburg/Ferdinand. He enjoyed playing cards and picking up aluminum cans.

Surviving are his two sons, Tony James (Judy) of Jasper and Donald “Scott” James of Cannelton; son in law, Kenny Bolin, Cannelton; siblings, Charles James, Troy, Julius “Jule” James and Janice James, Tell City and Larry James, Cannelton; grandchildren, Brandon James, Fort Wayne, Jesse Watkins (Chris), Cannelton and Cody Bolin (Mandy), Cannelton and six great grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Judith (Wilson) James; daughter, Kimberly Bolin; sisters, Mary Rosella Button and Sharon James and brothers, James Thomas, William Eugene, Delbert, Jerry and Cletus James.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM CST on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Huber Funeral Home, Cannelton Chapel. Jesse Watkins will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Derby, at a later date.

Visitation will be from 10:00AM -2:00 PM on Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Perry County Council on Aging and Hartford House.
