Don Schroeder

Tell City, Indiana –

Donald V. Schroeder, 83, passed away on October 22, 2023.

He was born in Perry County on May 20, 1940, son of Virgil S. and Anna “Alberta” (Parks) Schroeder.

Don was a “hobby” farmer most of his life, always having cows and horses around for enjoyment. He and his wife owned and operated Triple T Tack Shop, from their home, for many years. He drove for Holland Dairy for over thirty-five years and retired from Perry County Highway Department. Don was a member of Deer Creek Baptist Church where he had been a Trustee.

Surviving is his wife, Ruth (Gilliland) Schroeder; son; Alan Schroeder (Nancy); daughter, Carol Mills (Eddie); brother, Jim Schroeder (Mary); stepson, Henry Ford (Pam); several grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Loren, in infancy; a sister Betty Hauser and her husband, Lloyd; and a stepson, Chuck Ford.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM CDT on Friday, October 27, 2023, at Deer Creek Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery for which Don was a caretaker of for many years. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until service time on Friday at the church. Huber Funeral Home, Tell City, appreciates the opportunity to serve Don’s family.
