Derby, Indiana Dennis Ray "Denny" Hall, Sr., 62, passed away on March 6, 2021, at his home, surrounded by his family, after a nine-year battle of soft tissue sarcoma. He was born in Owensboro, Kentucky on April 26, 1958 to William "Bill", Sr. and Clara Mae (King) Hall. Denny grew up in Cannelton, transferred to Tell City High School, where he graduated in 1976. He attended Indiana State University and worked as a machine operator for Commercial Filters. Denny constructed power lines throughout Indiana for Irby Construction and was a welder for more than 20 years at the former Schwab Safe. While there, he was a proud UNITE#1737 member and had served as its president. Denny was united in marriage to Kimberly Rhodes on September 8, 1979 and was a devoted husband of 42 years. An admired father of three children, he cherished time with his grandchildren, watching them play sports and being a super Papaw. He loved hunting, four-wheeler riding and building the family cabin. Denny had the best sense of humor and was an exceptional storyteller, especially when sitting around a fire pit. Survivors include his wife, Kimberly Hall, Derby; children, Denny Hall, Jr. (Jennifer), Richland City, Derek Hall (Krystal), Mount Pleasant and Lacey Kilbarger (Benjamin), Santa Claus; grandchildren, Reese and Olivia Hall, Brooklyn and Blake Hall and Annabelle Kilbarger; brother, William Hall, Jr. (Sue), Newburgh; sister, Vicki Hall, Paoli; 11 nieces and nephews and his beloved dog, Sadie. Preceding him in death were his parents. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM CST on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Rev. Dr. Elmer Shelby will officiate. Burial will follow in Old Chapel Cemetery in Mount Pleasant. Visitation will be Monday from 3:00-7:00 PM and Tuesday 9:00 AM until service time at the funeral home. Masks are to be worn while visiting the funeral home and social distancing is to be practiced. Memorial contributions may be made to Perry County Humane Society.
