Dennis James

Dennis Raymond James, Sr., 75, passed away on November 28, 2022 at his home. He was born in Derby on May 9, 1947 to Kenneth and Elva (Alvey) James. Dennis was a proud member of the United States Marine Corp., having served in Vietnam. He was united in marriage on August 21, 1974 to Linda Landers. He worked at Schwab Safe for more than 25 years. He was a member of the Harry G. Myers American Legion Post #142 and a 25-year volunteer fireman for Rome Fire Department. Dennis enjoyed tinkering in his building, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Linda James, Rome; children, Dennis James, Jr. (Abby), Evansville, Crystal Frost (Manuel Leon), Foster City, CA and Becky Northerner (Gary), Rome; grandchildren, Gabriel and Isabelle James, Brendan and Darcy Frost and Lex Northerner; great grandchildren, Tyler Fulkerson and Rachelle Northerner; siblings, Richard James, Derby, Patty Shelton (Dale), Alton, Carol Kleaving (Steve), Tell City and Billy James (Penny), Cannelton Preceding him in death were his parents and siblings, Joy Howell, Wayne James and Bobby James and Paul Michael James in infancy. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM CST on Friday, December 2, 2022 at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Visitation will be Thursday from 3:00-7:00 PM and Friday 9:00-11:00 AM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Rome Volunteer Fire Department, Rome Courthouse or Rome United Methodist Church.
