Dennis Ball

Tell City, Indiana Dennis R. Ball, 57, passed away at 11:35 PM Tuesday October 5, 2004 at Perry County Memorial Hospital in Tell City. Denny was born March 23, 1947 in Tell City the son of the late Wm. Frank and Mary M. (Simon) Ball. A 1965 graduate of Tell City High School, he attended Purdue University and served as a U.S. Army Medic in Viet Nam receiving a Purple Heart medal and a Bronze Star for heroism in ground combat. Denny was united in marriage July 18, 1970 at St. Paul Catholic Church in Tell City to the former Peggy Lautner. An avid bowler, he enjoyed sports especially University of North Carolina basketball and Purdue University football. He retired from Can-Clay in Cannelton in 1990 after twenty-four years and was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church. Survived by: His wife of 34 years, Peggy A. (Lautner) Ball A daughter, Allyson Barnett and her husband Emmett, Bowling Green, KY A son, Jason Ball and his wife Jamie, Bowling Green, KY A sister, Becky Mann and her husband Don, Tell City, Indiana Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Saturday October 9, 2004 at St. Paul Catholic Church with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery at Tell City with military graveside rites by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 2939. Rev. Carl Deitchman OSB will officiate. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 8:00 PM Friday and from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM Saturday at Huber Funeral Home located at 1139 12th Street Tell City, Indiana.
