Denise Anderson

Cannelton, Indiana – 

 Denise Anderson, 63, passed away on February 6, 2025.

 She was born on January 26, 1962, in Evansville, the daughter of Arthur L. and Betty L. (Southwood) Witte.

 Denise was a 1980 graduate of Perry Central High School and married Michael R. Anderson on June 26, 1991, in Cannelton after being friends several years before that.

At one point, she had a booth at a thrift store in Owensboro where she sold women’s clothing and just a little bit of everything. She also enjoyed her job with Hearth Food Service where she got to socialize and visit daily. She owned and operated Midtown Tanning & More, renting movies, selling furniture and offering tanning.

 Fondly known as “NeNe” by her family, she loved to go thrift shopping with her sisters and traveling, with trips to Pigeon Forge, Gulf Shores and Orange Beach being her favorites. Denise was perfectly content just sitting on the beach with Mike, enjoying the sun and listening to the waves rolling in. She never turned down a trip to a casino with her “gambling buddy”, her father-in-law, Hargis “Red” Anderson.

 She is survived by her husband, Mike Anderson; sisters, Jennifer Neyenhaus (Chris) and Lisa Duke (Robert); several 

nieces, nephews and their families and Mike’s children, Matthew Anderson and Michelle Anderson. Her parents preceded her in death.

 Funeral services will be at 12:00 PM CST on Monday, February 10, 2025, at Huber Funeral Home, Cannelton Chapel, with burial to follow in New Cliff Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until service time. 

 Memorial contributions may be made to Perry County Relay for Life and Mount Zion Christian Church Cemetery.
