Delbert Jennings, 59, of Cloverport, Kentucky, passed away on April 16, 2025.

He was born on November 20, 1965, in Louisville, Kentucky, a son of Ozzie (Ward) and Halbert Jennings.

Delbert dedicated several years of his life as a truck driver, known for his strong work ethic and independent spirit. A proud member of the Portland Ironheads, Delbert lived life with grit, heart, and a deep love for the open road. He found joy in riding his Harley-Davidson, shooting pool, woodworking, cheering on UK basketball, casting a fishing line and relaxing on his cherished property. Among the greatest joys in his life was the bond he shared with his loyal dog, Riley—his "baby dog" and constant companion.

He was preceded in death by his father, Halbert Jennings. Left to carry on his memory is his loving mother, Ozzie Jennings; children, Tara Lucas (Carl) and Andrew Jennings; grandchildren, Addi Lucas and Emma Lucas, who brought endless light to his life. He is also survived by his brothers, Lou Jennings (Kimmie), Halbert Jennings (Beverly), Harvey Jennings, and Kenny Jennings along with a bucket full of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and countless friends who will miss his presence, humor, and strength.

Visitation will be from 2:00 PM until 7:00 PM EST on Friday, April 18, 2025, at Legacy Schoppenhorst Chapel, 1831 West Market Street, Louisville, KY 40215.

In Tell City, the visitation will be from 8:00 AM until 10:30 AM CDT on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at Huber Funeral Home, 1139 12th Street, Tell City, IN 47586 with the funeral service starting at 10:30 AM CDT. The burial will follow in Cloverport Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made toward Delbert’s funeral expenses.

Delbert’s legacy is one of strength, loyalty, and a life well-lived on his own terms. He will be missed deeply and remembered always.
