Delbert James

Delbert R. James, 75, passed away on September 27, 2022. He was born in Perry County, Indiana on October 26, 1946, son of William Arnold and Mabel (Curl) James. Delbert retired fromTell Street Garage where he was the owner/operator for over 25 years. He was a member of American Legion Post #213 and enjoyed fishing, playing cards, throwing darts, shooting pool, cooking and taking long drives on the weekends. Surviving are his children, Greg James (Rhonda), Hawesville, KY, Theresa James (Mark Stout), Tell City; grandchildren, Emma James, Tesa Bell and Destiny Bell; siblings, Charles James (Gloria), Troy, Larry James, Cannelton, "Jule" James, Tell City, Janice James, Tell City, and Donald James, Cannelton. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ida (Bernardi) James; siblings, Thomas, Eugene, Jerry and Cletus James, Mary Button and Sharon James. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, September 30, 2022, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel, with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery in Derby. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM. Chaplain Jason Rea will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to Huber Funeral Home to help offset funeral expenses.
