David Thompson, Sr.

Cannelton, Indiana David A. "Dave" Thompson, Sr., 77, passed away August 27, 2016 at Perry County Memorial Hospital. He was born in Tell City, on March 23, 1939, son of the late Chester and Sylvia (Ball) Thompson. Also preceding him in death was his wife Thelma (Kieser) Thompson on January 16, 2015; son, Brian Thompson; granddaughters, Jill Marie Johnson and Carrie Sanchez, and brothers, James and Donald Thompson. Dave was united in marriage to Thelma Kieser on December 2, 1955, in Cannelton. He was the former owner and operator of Thompson Tire and where he worked alongside his wife, Thelma. Dave enjoyed camping, fishing, motorcycle riding, winters in Alabama and spending time with family and friends. Surviving are his children, David A. Thompson, Jr. (Cindy), Cannelton, Gary L. Thompson, Cannelton, Mark W. Thompson (Stephanie), Tell City, Gail L. Thompson (Lonnie Schwindel), Lewisport, and Victoria S. Thompson, Evansville; grandchildren, Ericka Dowell, Misty Jones, David R. Thompson, Nichole Senn, Jamie Anderson, Matt Gaynor, Shalee Dowell, Shianne Taylor, Jeremy Thompson, Stefanie Thompson, Cody Sanchez, Sammy Hatfield, Tony Sanchez and Megan Sanchez, and sixteen great grandchildren; sisters, Eldora Anderson, Winter Haven, Florida and Carol Hemmerlein (Scott), Holly Hills, Florida; brother, Carl D. Thompson (Babe), Atlanta, Georgia; sister-in-laws, Deborah and Sandy Thompson; brother-in-law, Glenward Kieser and several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 10, 2016, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until service time on Saturday. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
