David was born in Perry County on April 17, 1952 son of the late Andrew and Georgia (Blum) Krieg. Also, preceding David was a sister Joanna Braunecker. David was a 1970 graduate of Perry Central High School. He was united in marriage to Ginger (Drake) Krieg on October 4, 1975 at St. Mark's Catholic Church. David began work at the former Willamette Industries on January 16, 1978, employed for twenty-eight years as a journeyman, twenty-four years of those years in the Maintenance Department. He was active in union service his entire working career. David held many offices in Local 1261 including terms as president. He also served as vice president, chief steward, and shop steward. David was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #1424. An avid Indiana University sports fan; he also enjoyed playing internet sports games. He served as a coach for both his son's basketball team and daughter's softball team. David loved spending time with his family, landscaping, and watching movies. David is survived by his wife of 30 years, Ginger (Drake) Krieg of Tell City, IN, a son, Adam Krieg and his fiancee Miranda Shipman of Tell City, IN, a daughter, Jill Krieg, of Tell City, IN, a sister Rosemary Suters, of Davenport, FL and a brother Earl Krieg, of Tell City, IN. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 AM EST Friday at St. Paul Catholic Church in Tell City, Indiana with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Rev. Columba Kelly, O.S.B. and Rev. Joe Kreisle will officiate. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 8:00 PM Thursday and 8:00 until 9:30 AM Friday at Huber-Funeral Home, 1139 12th Street in Tell City. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
