Tell City, Indiana David E. Evrard, 90, passed away at his home on August 2, 2022. He was born in Tell City on April 24, 1932, son of Fred J. and Olivia (Pierrard) Evrard. David attended St. Paul School in Tell City and graduated high school from St. Meinrad Seminary. He started his college education at University of Evansville, later transferring to Purdue University where he earned a degree in electrical engineering. He was a United States Air Force veteran and served in the National Security Agency. While stationed in Washington, D.C. he attended Georgetown University graduating with a Jurisprudence Degree. David served as Perry County's Circuit Court Judge for 30 years. A member of St. Paul Catholic Church, David served on the first Parish Council and sang in the church choir. He served many years on the Board of Directors at Southern Hills in Jasper and was a member of Knights of Columbus Council #1172, American Legion Post #213 and Tell City Kiwanis . David loved to build things, thus getting him involved in making sets and backgrounds for the annual Schweizer Fest musicals. He mostly enjoyed having gatherings with family and friends. Surviving is his wife, Maggie Evrard, Tell City; children, Joe Evrard (Terri), Louisville, Jackie Rolf (Dave), Ft. Mitchell, KY and Michelle Marietta (Larry), Zionsville; grandchildren, Ben (Kelsey), Jacob and Joe Studer, Nathan, Ross, Sam and Ty Evrard, Will and Katie Rolf and Molly and Maggie Marietta and one great grandson, Boone Studer. Preceding him in death were his parents and brother, Rev. Donald J. Evrard. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM CDT on Monday, August 8, 2022 at St. Paul Catholic Church. Archbishop Paul Etienne will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery with military rites. Visitation will be on Sunday from 1:00-5:00 PM and Monday from 9:00-10:30 AM at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Catholic Church Renovation Fund or St. Paul Catholic Church Religious Education Fund.
