David Brown

May 23, 1951 — September 10, 2021

Tell City, Indiana David E. Brown, 70, passed away on September 10, 2021 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. He was born in Cannelton, Indiana on May 23, 1951, son of the late Orville and Grace (VanConey) Brown. Dave was united in marriage on July 2, 1988 to Shelly Reed. He had worked at the former Can Clay and Schwab Safe before he and Shelly moved to Illinois in the early 1990's. He retired in 2009 from Anheuser-Busch, where he worked in promotional distributing. Dave was a Mopar and Big Foot enthusiast and was a fan of the Miami Dolphins. He enjoyed fishing and loved to tell jokes. He will always be remembered for his jokes and never meeting a stranger; even a quick visit to the gas station would turn into meeting and talking to someone new. Dave cherished his family, having get-togethers and spending time with his grandchildren. Surviving is his wife of 33 years, Shelly Brown, Belle Rive, IL; his children, Callie Meunier (Brian), Huntingburg and James Brown, Belle Rive, IL; grandchildren, Kyle Meunier, Addison Bedar and Tucker Brown; a sister, Trish Vowels (Ben), Tell City and brothers, Charles "Buck" Brown (Virginia) and Randy Brown (Tonya), all of Tell City and nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death other than his parents, was a sister, Janice Kleeman. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 PM CDT on Friday, September 17, 2021 at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Joe Noble will officiate. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until service time at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM CDT on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church Cemetery, 655 St. Peters Church Rd. SE, Corydon, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia Society.
