David Braun

David W. Braun, Sr., 89, passed away on November 10, 2022 at Oakwood Health Campus. He was born in Tell City on November 8, 1933 to Edgar "Bud" and Marguerite (Gerber) Braun. Dave was a 1951 graduate of Cannelton High School and was a United States Army veteran. He retired from Gerber Oil Co., formerly in Cannelton, as a truck driver. Dave was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, American Legion Post 213 and Loyal Order of Moose. He enjoyed playing golf, bowling and watching baseball, as he had played semi-pro baseball for the Fargo Moorhead Red Hawks in Fargo, ND. Surviving are his children, Doug Wolf (Sheila), Dave Braun, Jr. (Debbie) and Darla Braun Hempfling, all of Tell City; brother, Jim Braun (Stephanie Snyder), Dallas, TX; son-in-law, Joe Dickman, Tell City; brother-in-law, Jerry Sabelhaus, Seattle, WA twelve grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Preceding him in death, other than his parents, was his wife, Lois (Risse) Wolf Braun; daughter, Debra "Wolfie" Dickman and sister, Sandra Sabelhaus. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM CST on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at St. Michael Catholic Church. Visitation will be Monday from 2:00-7:00 PM and Tuesday from 8:30-9:30 AM at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael Catholic Church. Huber Funeral Home is both privileged and honored to be entrusted with the care of Mr. Braun.
