Cannelton, Indiana David Ray Bland, 66, passed away December 1, 2014 at Hartford House in Owensboro, Kentucky He was born in Owensboro, Kentucky, March 11, 1948, son of the late Alvin and Rushia (Kellems) Bland. Also preceding him in death were twins in infancy, sisters, Dorothy Young and Violet Reed, brothers, Ivan, Albert, Homer and Alvin Bland, Jr. A 1967 graduate of Cannelton High School, David was united in marriage March 25, 1988 to Deborah Gentry, who survives. He was a truck driver for First Class trucking for several years, attended Seventh Street Baptist Church and enjoyed horses and race cars. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Deborah Bland; step-children, Amy Masey, Hawesville, and Jeremy Pauckner, Tell City; sister, Shirley Curl, Owensboro; one step-grandson, Noah Pauckner; several nieces and nephews, Sondra VanConia, Dorinda Bland, Shawn Gottman, Kaye Curl and Vance Curl. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday at Huber Funeral Home, Cannelton Chapel with burial in New Cliff Cemetery. Bro. Joe Simpson and Bro. Harold Draper will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until service time. Memorial contributions may be made to Seventh Street Baptist Church.
