Cannelton, Indiana David M. "Dave" Beumel, 66, passed away on April 5, 2021 at his home in Cannelton. He was born in Cannelton, Indiana on July 15, 1954 to Charles and Eleanor (Poehlein) Beumel. Dave was a 1972 graduate of Cannelton High School and began work at the former Cantex (in Cannelton) and then entered the Navy. Upon his military discharge, Dave graduated in 1977 from Vincennes University and earned his Bachelor's in civil engineering and in 1986 he earned a Bachelor's for construction tech at Purdue, Indianapolis Campus. Dave was united in marriage on April 29, 2006 to Jennifer "Jenny" Green. He retired as a construction manager for Skillman Corporation. He enjoyed hunting and spending time with friends, family and especially his grandchildren. Dave was a lifetime member of Sigma Phi Epsilon, a member of American Legion Harry G. Myers Post 142 and an original founder at Fish 11. Surviving are his wife, Jenny Beumel, Cannelton; children, Kollin Sotolongo (Mike), Westfield, Kourtney Beumel, Jolietville and Lance Simms, Evansville; a brother, Alex Beumel (Judy), Troy; grandchildren, Michael, Gabe and Kora Sotolongo, Baylee Beumel, Ava and Mya Simms. Preceding him in death were his parents and a sister, Alexis Richards. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM CST on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at Huber Funeral Home Cannelton, Chapel. Chaplain Paul Whiteford will officiate. Burial with military rites will follow in Cliff Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 9:00 AM until service time at the funeral home. The family does request a mask to be worn while visiting the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
