Tell City, Indiana Darrow L. "Butch" Ross, Jr., 75, passed away on August 7, 2020 at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born in Evansville, Indiana on April 16, 1945, son of the late Darrow L. Ross, Sr. and Eiliene (Brumfield) Harris. Also preceding him in death was a daughter in infancy, Tamara Lynn and a sister in infancy. Butch was a 1963 graduate of Tell City High School. He was united in marriage on July 3, 1965 to Barbara Mullis, who survives. Butch retired from Commonwealth Aluminum after 32 years. He was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council #1172. Butch was known for his fun-loving pranks and good sense of humor. He enjoyed boating, fishing, playing cards, traveling in his camper, going to his grandkids events, animals, especially his horses and dog, Oliver and was an IU fan. Surviving is his wife of 55 years, Barbara Ross, Tell City; children, Jenny Binkley (Jerry), St. Croix, Jon Ross (Tami Petitjean), Clarksville, TN, Chad Ross (Jennifer), Evansville and Mandy Bauer (Dominic), Tell City; grandchildren, Samantha, MacKenzie and Emily Binkley, Claire and Cole Ross, Audrey and Kennedy Bauer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM CDT on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at St. Mark Catholic Church. Rev. Tony Hollowell will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 3:00-7:00 PM with a K of C service at 6:00 PM and Tuesday 8:30-9:30 AM at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mark Catholic Church or the American Kidney Foundation.
