Darrel Seibert

Tell City, Indiana Darrel R. Seibert, 79, passed away April 24, 2018 at Oakwood Health Campus. He was born in Cannelton, Indiana on November 7, 1938 to the late Orville Seibert and Edna (Schroeder) Seibert. Also preceding him in death was his grandson, Elijah Meunier,a brother, Hilbert Seibert, son-in-law Bob Powers and step-mother, Nadine (Riley) Seibert. Darrel was a graduate of Cannelton High School, Class of 1957 and a U.S. Army Veteran. He was united in marriage to the former Mary A. Jenkins on June 23, 1962 at St. Paul Catholic Church. Darrel retired in 1995 from Tell City Chair Company. He was a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ and enjoyed family get-togethers, watching sports, television, puzzles, playing euchre and vacations. Surviving is his wife, Mary A. Seibert, Tell City; son, David Seibert (Cindy), Tell City; a daughter, Barbara Powers, Tell City; twin sister, Carol Varble (Rodney), Newtonville; grandchildren, Katie "Kat" Seibert, Shawn Cassidy (Steven), Allen M. Walker, Deanna Harmon (Kevin), Devin Meunier (Sierra), Samantha Boyer-Hanks (Kyle), Ryan Powers (Jenny), Justin Powers, and Mary Evelyn Powers and eight great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Evangelical United Church of Christ. Rev. JT Hills will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, with military rites conducted by American Legion Post #213. Visitation will be Friday from 3:00-8:00 PM and Saturday 8:30-9:30 AM at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Evangelical United Church of Christ.
