Darlene Elaman

July 19, 1952 — May 30, 2023

Darlene Kaye Elaman, 70, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, passed away on May 30, 2023. Born on July 19, 1952, in Princeton, IN, Darlene's humble and supportive nature made her a cherished presence in the lives of those who knew her. For over 26 years, she dedicated herself to her work at Tell City-Troy Township School Corporation, where her colleagues appreciated her unwavering diligence and kindness. Darlene's love for her family and grandchildren was evident in every aspect of her life, from the time and care she invested in them to the joy she found in their achievements and milestones. In her retirement, Darlene embraced her passion for finding treasures at yard sales and cooking up delicious meals from recipes she discovered. She enjoyed the simple pleasures of playing Candy Crush and traveling with her friends during her husband Michael's tax season. A devoted member of Tell City Church of Christ, Darlene found great solace and fulfillment in her faith. Her warmth, generosity, and innate ability to uplift others made her a cherished and irreplaceable member of her community and family. Darlene is survived by her loving husband of nearly 52 years, Michael Elaman, Tell City; their children, Jennifer Kessner, Grandview and Joshua Elaman, Tell City; her brother David Bottoms, Buckskin, IN; her sister, Debbie (Dennis) Willis, Somerville, IN; and her adored grandchildren, Stephen II and Maurice "Mak" Kessner. She was preceded in death by her parents, Billie Joe and Wilma (Nixon) Bottoms. Darlene's memory will be forever etched in the hearts of those who knew her, and her legacy of love and support will continue to inspire and guide her family and friends.
