Danny Vanconey

St. Croix, Indiana Danny C. VanConey, 61, passed away Friday, November 7, 2014 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. He was born in Tell City on February 18, 1953, son of the late William B. VanConey. His mother, Margorie (Winkler) Ward, survives him. Danny was also preceded in death by a half-brother, Bill VanConey; grandparents, Bernie and Bell Winkler and sister-in-law Nancy Krieg. Danny was united in marriage to Pam Niehaus April 3, 1981. A member of the National Guard for five years, Danny retired as a heavy equipment operator for Operating Engineers Local 181. He was also a member of Branchville Masonic Lodge # 496 and St. Meinrad Legion Post # 366. He enjoyed cooking out, four wheeler riding and spending time with his grandchildren. Danny is survived by his wife Pam (Niehaus)VanConey, St. Croix; mother, Margie Ward (Harold Malone), Cannelton; a daughter, Misty Jaggers (Jon), Tell City; a son, Dano VanConey, Apalona; a sister, Donna Howard (Don Corley), Hardinsburg, Kentucky; a brother, Tommy VanConey (Jean), Tobinsport and five grandchildren, Kyler, Kieara, Jaren, Jevin and Eliza. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM on Monday, November 10, 2014 at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel, with burial in St. Isidore Cemetery, near Bristow, where military graveside rites will be conducted by St. Meinrad American Legion Post #366. Visitation is from 2:00 until 7:00 PM on Sunday and from 12:00 until 2:00 PM on Monday. There will be a memorial service at 6:30 PM on Sunday conducted by the Branchville Masonic Lodge.
