Daniel Hammack

Tell City, Indiana Daniel E. Hammack, 66, passed away January 15, 2018 at Frazier Rehab Institute in Louisville, Kentucky. He was born in Tell City, Indiana on May 3, 1951 to the late Edwin and Garnet (Burns) Hammack. Dan was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was united in marriage on August 9, 1975 to the former Cathy Jarboe. He was currently working as a correctional officer at Branchville Correctional Facility. Dan was a family man who enjoyed grilling, watching all of his grandchildren play sports, where he would coach them from the sideline, IU Basketball, Notre Dame Football, and playing golf. With a love for baseball, he coached little league and enjoyed the St. Louis Cardinals and attending Evansville Otters games. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church. Surviving is his wife, Cathy Hammack, Tell City; children, Danielle Naviaux, Tell City, Bryce Hammack (Kris), Tell City, Andy Hammack (Anna), Huntingburg and Tyler Hammack (Michael Dunn), Dawson Springs, KY; ten grandchildren, Bryson, Jaxon and Kason Naviaux, Zachary, Coy and Brady Hammack, Scotti and Lanee Hammack, Brooklynn and Chase Dunn; sisters, Garnetta Hoehn (Pat), Jeffersonville and Lana Feltner (Dan), Derby; brothers, Mike Hammack (Angela), Owensboro and Jeff Hammack (Rhonda), Ashburn, VA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM CST Friday, January 19, 2018 at St. Paul Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery with military rites. Visitation will be Thursday from 1:00-8:00 PM and Friday 8:30-9:30 AM at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City, Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.
