Dale Lyons

Tell City, Indiana Dale D. Lyons, 79, passed away Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at Owensboro Medical Health System, in Owensboro, Kentucky. He was born in Rock Island, Illinois September 13, 1932, son of the late Cyril and Thelma (Hamilton) Lyons. A graduate of Cannelton High School, Dale and his family operated the former Lyons Cafe in Cannelton. He was also manager of the former Marksmen Inn, in Tell City, and retired from Glazier's Union #1165 in Evansville. After his retirement, he continued working for fifteen years at Walmart. Dale enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and NASCAR. His is survived by his wife of 27 years, Margie; sons, Randy Lyons (Karen), Tell City, Donny Lyons (Gretchen), Newburgh, and Steve Lyons, Evansville; daughter, Dana Scott, Troy; step-daughters, Renita Spinner, Tell City, Leanne Spath (Donnie), Tell City and Janann Smith (Wayne), Santa Fe, New Mexico; brother, Dennis Lyons (Nancy), Tell City; grandchildren, Michelle Lyons Runkle(Matt), Nicole Lyons Zoglmann(Jeff), Eric Lyons, Jon Lyons, Aaron Scott, Matthew Scott; step-grandchildren, Derek Spath (Sara), Kaycie Horrom (Jeramy), Melissa Spath, Lauren Smith, Jason spinner (Lesli) and Sarah Spinner; great grandchildren, Lily and Jackson Runkle; step great grandchildren, Jaidyn, Rylie Horrom,Jocelyn Rodriguez and Mason Spinner. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Sarah (Schertzer) Lyons and a sister, June Farmer. Dale requested private funeral services. Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel, will be handling the arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to your favorite charity.
