Cynthia G. Dietrich (Schimmel) passed away on July 16, 2024, at the age of 78. She was born on January 23, 1946, in Evansville, Indiana, and spent her final years in Brooksville, Florida. Cynthia was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother; her legacy of kindness and care remains a beacon to all who know her.


Cynthia, affectionately known as Cindy, dedicated over 40 years of her life to nursing, a career that reflected her nurturing spirit and commitment to helping others. After retiring, she continued to make a difference by actively supporting animal rescue initiatives and assisting veterans with PTSD, showcasing her enduring compassion and generosity.


She leaves behind her loving husband, Bob Dietrich, her daughter, Melony Malone Norwood (Kim), her son, Alan Malone (Denise), two grandsons, and a granddaughter. Cynthia was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Georgia Schimmel of Spring Hill, Florida.


Cynthia was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Spring Hill, Florida, where she found a community of faith that mirrored her own values of service and community. A Celebration of Life will be held in her honor on July 20, 2024, at 4 pm at the First Baptist Church of Spring Hill, Florida.


In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to K9 Partners for Patriots, an organization close to Cynthia's heart, reflecting her passion for both animals and supporting veterans.


The JT Campbell Funeral and Cremation Home in Brooksville, Florida, is assisting the family during this time. Cynthia's life story is a testament to her unwavering care for others, and she will be dearly missed by many.
