Tell City, Indiana Curtis R. Galey, 71, passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at St. Mary's Medical Center. He was born April 3, 1942, in St. Croix, son of the late Edward Galey and Clarice (Riat) Galey who survives him. He retired from NSA/Century Aluminum in 2004 after 30 years. His hobbies included farming, visiting with friends, playing cards, watching Gunsmoke, Lawman and western movies, and adding to his John Deere collection. Curtis was very proud of his John Deere tractors and was a member of the Southern Indiana Tractor Club and The Humane Society of Perry County. Those left behind to celebrate his life are his wife and soul mate of 17 years, Louise "Gertrude" Galey; mother, Clarice Galey; son, Curtis Galey (Theresa) ; daughter, Adwina James ; sisters, Joy Davis, Ada Burns (Norman), and Barbara Sue Connor (Tim) ; step-daughters, Melinda Scott (Chris), Marsha Dailey (Perrish) and Michelle Wallace (Jim); 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; several loving nieces and nephews. His son, Jason Galey, preceded him in death. To celebrate the life of Curtis, there will be a "pitch-in" pot luck dinner on Sunday, May 26, 2013 at The Galey Farms, 6852 Azalea Road (Gatchel), beginning at noon. Please bring a lawn chair. There will be no visitation or funeral services at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to The Humane Society of Perry County.
