Curt Jarboe

Tell City, Indiana –

Henry C. “Curt” Jarboe, 90, passed away on November 11, 2023.

He was born near Ranger, in Perry County, son of John David and Clara (Kunard) Jarboe.

He went to school at both Bristow and Leopold before serving his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Curt married Delores Cassidy on April 18, 1953, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church near Magnet. He had worked at Tell City Furniture, William Tell Woodcrafters, Cutter Boats, Scotty Craft Boats (Indianapolis), and retired from Tell City Chair Company, after 33 years, where he worked in maintenance. After his retirement, he enjoyed helping his daughter and son-law when they owned and operated Bettinger Chips.

Curt was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, American Legion Post #213 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #2939.  He loved riding horses and driving his tractor around the farm.  Curt always looked forward to time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He’s survived by his children, Mike Jarboe (Kathy), Cathy Hammack, Dale Jarboe, and Jeff Jarboe; grandchildren, Danielle Naviaux, Bryce Hammack (Kris), Andy Hammack (Anna), Tyler Hammack (Mike Dunn), Amber Bockhold (Clint), Jenna Simon (Michael), Katie Gelarden (Ryan), Michael Jarboe (Brianna), Chris Jarboe (Denise), Adam Jarboe (Amy) and Shannon Etienne (Glenn); several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Curt was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Delores (Cassidy) Jarboe; sisters, Evelyn Franchville, Diana Sue Jarboe and a son-in-law, Dan Hammack.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at St. Paul Catholic Church with burial in Greenwood Cemetery where there will be military rites. Visitation will be from 3:00 until 7:00 PM on Tuesday and from 9:00 until 9:30 AM on Wednesday at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel.
