Cannelton, Indiana Clyde R. Polster, 86, passed away on April 10, 2021. He was born in Craig, Colorado on October 19, 1934 to Emil and Mary (Wittman) Polster. Clyde was a 1952 graduate of Dale High School where he was valedictorian. He was an Army veteran and served in Germany from 1955-1957. He retired from Can Clay, formerly in Cannelton, had farmed 80 acres in Spencer County, had also farmed for his step father in Bristow and had been a security guard with Clark Security. Baptized on October 21, 1934 into the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, Clyde was a lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Evanston. He was united in marriage on November 28, 1963 to Hilda Jean Vanconia, who preceded him in death on January 31, 2007. Also preceding him in death was his infant son, Robert Polster; his father, Emil Polster; mother and step father, Mary and Julius Gerwin. Surviving is his son, Scott Polster, Cannelton; several cousins and many friends. Services will be held at 2:00 PM CST on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Pastor Rodney Schmeltz will officiate. Burial will follow in New Cliff Cemetery, Cannelton. Visitation will be Wednesday from 12:00 PM until service time at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, Evanston.
