Tell City, Indiana Clifford M. Cantner, 89, passed away Thursday, January 5, 2012 at Golden Living Center Lincoln Hills. He was born February 26, 1922 in Rockport, son of the late John and Myrtie (Bunch) Cantner. Also preceding him in death were a daughter, Tracey Jo Leistner and grandson Luke Harding. Clifford married Myrna Cummins May 7, 1949 in English who survives. A U.S. Navy veteran he served in WWII on the USS Boxer. Clifford owned and operated Valley Supply until his retirement in 1984. He was a member of American Legion Post in French Lick and enjoyed fishing, camping and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Myrna Cantner; daughters, Tamara Husk (Jeff), Hawesville and Trisha Harris (Doug), Tell City; sons, Douglas Cantner (Lisa), Pensacola, FL and James Cantner (Bonita), English; 9 grandchildren, Jocelyn Curtis, Brandon, Andrew, Matthew, Lauren and Wesley Cantner, Jalen and Jenna Harris and Jeremy Leistner; 11 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter. Funeral services will be at11:00 AM Monday, January 9, 2012 at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel, with burial in Birdseye Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 7:00 PM on Sunday and from 9:00 until service time on Monday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Perry County Animal Shelter.
