Tell City, Indiana Cledia F. Bertke, 87, passed away Wednesday May 16, 2012, at Oakwood Health Campus. She was born February 15, 1925, in Spencer County daughter of the late Melvin and Olive (Wheeler) Foster. She was united in marriage to Joseph Bertke on June 5, 1945 in St. Meinrad. He passed away in 1986. Also preceding her in death was a son, Cletus Joseph Bertke and granddaughter Brenda Troesch, in infancy. A graduate of Bristow High School, Cledia was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church where she was active on the funeral meal committee and was also a member of Daughters of Isabella, where she was a past Regent, she was past commander of V.F.W. Auxiliary #2939, and was an Oblate of St. Benedict. She was a life member of the DAV Auxiliary holding several offices, including commander. She had also been a member of the former Fennhaven Homemakers Club. Cledia enjoyed crocheting, playing cards and scrabble. She is survived by daughters; Mildred Troesch (Vic), St. Meinrad, Cheryl Rosenfeld (Rich), Indianapolis and Karen Keyler (Ron), Indianapolis; sister, Lucille Jones, Evansville; brother, Cletus Harold Foster, Tell City; grandchildren, Tim Troesch, Tracy Tempel, Terri Theis, Tom Troesch, Lisa Payson, Kristen Palmer, Matthew Rosenfeld, Sarah Wood, Adam Keyler and Jordan Keyler; 9 great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM CST Saturday, May 19, 2012 at St. Paul Catholic Church with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery. Rev. Dennis Duvelius will officiate. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 7:00 PM on Friday and from 8:30 until 9:30 AM Saturday at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel, where there will be a D of I memorial service on Friday at 6:30PM. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Catholic Church.
