Tell City, Indiana - Clay D. Newton, 73, passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2013, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville. He was born in Hancock County, Kentucky, on February 28, 1940. His parents were the late Coleman and Virginia (Ryan) Newton. Also preceding him in death were his sisters, Lilly Denson and Brenda Coomes (Joseph). A U.S. Army veteran, Clay retired from farming, where he was self-employed. He enjoyed playing cards and spending time with his family and friends. Surviving are his sisters, Phyllis Daniel (Frank) and Arlene Skaggs (Leroy), of Louisville, Kentucky; a brother, Bob Newton (JoEtta) of Tell City; nieces, Lori Denson and Kelley Coomes; a nephew, Gary Skaggs (Jeanine) and a brother-in-law, William Denson. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at St. Rose Cemetery in Breckinridge County, Kentucky . There will be no visitation at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Pastor Daniel Gadbaw will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to American Lung Association or to a charity of your choice.
