Clarice Galey

Branchville, Indiana, Clarice Mae Galey, 92, of Branchville, passed away Thursday, December 12, 2013 at Perry County Memorial Hospital. Clarice was born in Branchville on May 3, 1921, daughter of the late Edward Riat and Nina Sprinkle Riat. A graduate of Oil Township High School, Clarice married Edward F. Galey on October 10, 1940. She and her husband owned and operated the Branchville Grocery for many years. Ed served twenty-two years as Oil Township Trustee, and passed away in 2002. Clarice then completed his term in the trustee position. She was a member of the Branchville United Methodist Church and the Columbia Rebekah Lodge. Clarice enjoyed gardening, canning and crocheting. Clarice is survived by three daughters, Joy A. Davis, Elizabeth, Indiana, Ada L. Burns (Norman), Cannelton, Indiana, Barbara Sue Connor (Tim), Branchville, Indiana, twelve grandchildren, Curtis W. Galey, Adwina James, Mary Jane Enlow, Scott Davis, Kim Brown, James Burns, Shelly Smith, Neil and Carolyn Connor, Michelle Wallace, Melinda Scott and Marsha Dailey , 19 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, a son Curtis Galey, grandson, Jason Galey and a sister, Gladys Bundy. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, December 16, 2014 at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel, with burial in Walker Cemetery, Branchville. Rev Bill Reid will officiate. Visitation is from 1:00 - 5:00 PM Sunday and 9:00 - 11:00 AM Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Walker Cemetery.
